We are very excited to be recruiting for this vacancy, which is part of our transformation journey in trading. This newly created senior role will report directly to our Head of Quantitative Engineering and play a key role in developing high-performance systems and platforms for quantitative finance, optimization and energy trading. It offers a unique opportunity for a senior professional to integrate quantitative modeling, computational science, and software engineering into practical, high-impact solutions. This position is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, with relocation support provided.
Your main responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, high-performance systems supporting quantitative analytics and optimization, trading workflows, and risk management
- Implement and optimize models for pricing, asset optimization, and risk calculations, with emphasis on performance and reliability
- Handle real-time market and operational data streams to feed analytics and decision-making systems
- Collaborate closely with Trading, Structuring, Risk, and Quant teams to deliver production-ready, practical solutions
- Follow up on projects from conception through implementation and continuous improvement
- Ensure operational reliability, monitoring, CI/CD, and maintainability of critical systems and infrastructure, collaborating closely with IT
- Contribute to engineering best practices, mentor team members, and support continuous improvement
Your profile
- University degree, ideally Master’s or PhD, in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline
- Extensive software engineering experience across backend, frontend, databases, APIs, and infrastructure
- Proven experience in computationally intensive workflows, real-time data processing, and performance-critical systems
- Experience with quantitative finance, energy markets, market data, asset modelling
- Proficiency in Python and modern compiled languages with low-level optimization expertise, including experience with numerical computing frameworks
- Strong system design skills with focus on reliability, maintainability, and performance
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across front-office and cross-functional teams
- Fluent English, additional languages a plus
- Ability/willingness to relocate to Lausanne, Switzerland
