Job-Inhalt
At Bavarian Nordic, we are committed to saving and improving lives by unlocking the power of the immune system. Our commercial product portfolio includes market-leading vaccines against smallpox, mpox, rabies, tick-borne encephalitis, typhoid fever, and cholera. We excel in R&D innovation, manufacturing, and commercialization, striving to improve people's health and quality of life worldwide, protecting our tomorrow.
Bavarian Nordic has grown significantly and serves an increasingly complex global vaccine business across products, geographies, customers, and partners. A mature and resilient supply chain is critical to sustaining reliable service, supporting profitable growth, strengthening customer confidence, and ensuring that high-quality vaccines reach patients and customers when and where they are needed.
Due to internal promotion, we are now seeking a Vice President for Global Supply Chain.
The role
We are seeking an experienced and highly commercial driven leader to take our global supply chain organization through the next phase of growth, maturity, and operational excellence. This is an opportunity for a strong supply chain leader who can continue building a high-performing, globally integrated, and business-oriented end-to-end supply chain.
As our new VP for Global Supply Chain, you will play a key leadership role in continuing the transformation of Global Supply Chain from a more transactional and fragmented setup into an end-to-end, digitally enabled, performance-driven and globally integrated function.
Key responsibilities
Lead the Global Supply Chain organization and ensure reliable, cost-efficient, and sustainable supply to customers and patients globally.
Drive end-to-end supply chain performance across service, cost, cash, sustainability, risk, and quality compliance.
Continue the implementation and stabilization of the Global Supply Chain target operating model, ensuring clear roles, governance, interfaces, and decision rights.
Partner closely with Global Operations, Commercial, Public Preparedness, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, IT, and site leadership to balance supply, demand, capacity, and business priorities.
Build organizational capability across people, processes, systems, and data, including ERP evolution, performance management, and digital transformation.
Lead, coach, and develop a strong global leadership team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, quality mindset, and customer focus
You will lead a global organization of approximately 115 employees through a team of around 15 direct reports. The role can be based in Kvistgaard, Denmark, or Thorishaus, Switzerland, and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). International travel of up to 20% should be expected.
What you bring
To become a success in this role, it is crucial that you bring solid business acumen, energy, and ambition to our dynamic growing business. Therefore, we are looking for a supply chain executive who thrives in translating business ambition into operational results.
You excel at leading through others, creating alignment across a global organization, and ensuring that supply chain capabilities evolve in step with business needs. Rather than building strategy from scratch, you know how to accelerate and strengthen existing direction, driving performance, resilience, and continuous improvement at scale. Besides this, you bring
Extensive experience leading end-to-end supply chain organizations in a global and highly regulated environment
A strong record of accomplishment of building high-performing leadership teams and developing organizational capability
Deep understanding of integrated business planning, supply chain operations, logistics, and network performance
Proven ability to navigate complexity and drive execution across multiple functions, geographies, and stakeholders
Experience leading operational transformations, process optimization, and digital enablement initiatives
A collaborative, pragmatic, and results-oriented leadership approach with the ability to inspire trust and drive accountability
Why this role
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a global supply chain organization in a company with a strong purpose and an ambitious growth agenda. Reporting directly to the COO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Global Supply Chain, driving transformation, building organizational capabilities, and ensuring that life-saving vaccines reach patients and customers around the world.
