Job Description
- Manage general and cost accounting activities in accordance with internal procedures, applicable regulations and reporting deadlines.
- Prepare and analyse monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations (CO) and Swiss GAAP FER.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process and support management with financial analysis and performance monitoring.
- Manage Swiss administrative and tax matters, including VAT, corporate taxes and social insurance requirements.
- Coordinate relationships with external auditors, banks and other financial stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain appropriate administrative procedures and key internal controls to ensure the quality and integrity of financial processes.
- Ensure the effective use of finance systems and contribute to process optimisation, automation and digitalisation initiatives.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of ERP and treasury solutions, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Kyriba or comparable systems.
- Act as a key finance contact for Swiss authorities and other external stakeholders on accounting, tax and financial matters.
- Provide local management with reliable financial information and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
The Successful Applicant
- Several years of professional experience in accounting and finance, ideally gained within an SME, international group or similarly complex environment.
- Strong knowledge of general and cost accounting.
- Proven experience preparing and analysing monthly and annual financial statements under Swiss GAAP FER and the Swiss Code of Obligations.
- Very good knowledge of Swiss VAT and general Swiss tax requirements.
- Experience with modern ERP and finance systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Abacus, Sage or similar.
- Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Very good command of English; German and/or French would be an advantage.
- Autonomous, structured and analytical working style, combined with a high level of accuracy and reliability.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Solution-oriented and pragmatic personality with a strong sense of ownership.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trusted relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
