Presentation

The Postdoctoral researcher will be a member of the Department of Organizational Behavior of HEC Lausanne. The OB Department provides a stimulating, interdisciplinary research environment. The members of the department have backgrounds in various fields including social and industrial-organizational psychology, the cognitive and decision sciences, human evolutionary ecology, management, and economics. Expected starting date:    January 1st, 2027, or a mutually acceptable alternative

Contract duration:           The initial contract is one year and is renewable for a further two-year term. Total of 3 years.

Place of work:                 University of Lausanne, Faculty of Economics and Business, Lausanne/Dorigny

Type of position:              75%

Salary:                            According to legal stipulations here

Your responsibilities

  • 70% the workload will be devoted to personal research.
  • 30% of the workload will be dedicated to teaching (one 3-ECTS course in the first year and two 3-ECTS courses in the second year). Depending on your preference teaching in English or in French is possible.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following profile: 

  • PhD in Management, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Biology, Physics, or another discipline that offers ways into the study of human behavior in organizations.
  • You must have the proven ability to publish in leading international journals and to have requisite teaching experience at the university level.
  • Strong focus on behavioral research in any area of the behavioral sciences, including but not limited to organizational behavior, decision making, human resource management, cognitive science, industrial psychology, economics, leadership, negotiation, human evolution, or related fields.
  • You must be able to teach courses related to organizational behavior, broadly defined, in the Bachelor’s and Master's program.

The specific course topics will be defined later during the process and be based on the successful candidate's expertise. The following list represents candidate topics for teaching, though the list is not meant to exclude other courses that may better fit the candidate’s background: “Human Resource Management”, “Organizational Behavior”, “Contemporary Topics in HR Management”, “The Future of Work”, “Organizational Culture and Behavior Change”, the “Psychology of Judgment and Decision-making”, “and “Introduction to Human Behavior, Affect, and Cognition”.
