At PwC, our people in audit and assurance focus on providing independent and objective assessments of financial statements, internal controls, and other assurable information enhancing the credibility and reliability of this information with a variety of stakeholders. They evaluate compliance with regulations including assessing governance and risk management processes and related controls.
In financial statement audit at PwC, you will focus on obtaining reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and to issue an auditor’s report that includes the auditor’s opinion.
Your Team
In our Audit practice, we provide independent and objective assurance that financial records, statements and processes are accurate, reliable and compliant, helping to build trust among stakeholders. You will join an international and collaborative team serving companies in the energy, commodity trading and industrial sectors. Our work combines a deep understanding of complex business models with technical accounting expertise, digital audit tools and data analytics. You will have the opportunity to lead challenging engagements, develop teams and work closely with clients and PwC specialists across our global network.
Your Impact
Lead the planning, execution and completion of complex financial statement audits and group reporting engagements for international clients in the energy, commodity trading and industrial sectors.
Assess complex accounting and reporting matters under IFRS, including derivatives, fair value measurement, hedge accounting, lease accounting, business combinations and consolidation topics.
Coordinate with PwC teams and subject-matter specialists across different countries to deliver high-quality audit outcomes within demanding reporting timelines.
Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and communicate audit findings, technical matters and practical recommendations clearly and effectively.
Shape and develop diverse engagement teams through coaching, knowledge sharing, active feedback and responsibility for audit quality and timely delivery.
Contribute to audit transformation, quality and operational initiatives by leveraging digital audit tools, data analytics and efficient group-reporting processes.
Your Skill Set
You hold a university degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field and have completed, or are close to completing, a recognised professional accounting qualification such as the Swiss CPA, CA, ACCA, CPA or an equivalent qualification.
You have several years of relevant external audit experience, including experience leading complex audit engagements and coordinating multidisciplinary or international teams, preferably within a Big Four or comparable professional-services environment.
You have strong knowledge of IFRS and auditing standards, together with experience in group audits, consolidated financial statements and complex financial-reporting matters.
You bring relevant audit experience in one or more of the following areas: energy, oil and gas, commodity trading, industrial services or other international and complex business environments.
You combine strong analytical and project-management capabilities with a collaborative leadership style, high quality standards and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and reporting deadlines.
You communicate fluently in English
