Job Description
As Corporate Communication Manager, you will be part of the Corporate Communication & Public Affairs team and contribute to strengthening SMG’s reputation through clear, consistent and impactful communication.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs, you will work across a broad range of Group-level corporate communication topics, with a particular focus on media relations and financial communications. You will also support internal communications and selected strategic communication projects, working closely with Investor Relations, Senior Management and the Communication Managers of our Business Units.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of corporate communication strategies and concepts aligned with SMG’s business objectives
- Manage media relations activities, including media enquiries, media monitoring, press releases, statements, Q&As and spokesperson activities
- Manage media relations and PR activities for SMG’s Finance & Insurance business, working closely with the relevant business stakeholders
- Support financial communications in close collaboration with Investor Relations, including annual and half-year results, the Annual Report and the Annual General Meeting
- Support the positioning of C-level executives through key messages, speaking points, presentations and communication content
- Support internal communications on Group-wide topics and adapt content for relevant internal target groups and channels
- Support communication for Group-wide strategic topics and projects, such as sustainability and cybersecurity
- Work closely with senior management, Business Unit Communication Managers and other key internal stakeholders
- Coordinate external agencies and partners where required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (FH, University) in Communications, Journalism, Business Administration or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in corporate communications
- Experience in media relations and a good understanding of the Swiss media landscape
- Experience in or strong interest in financial and capital markets communications
- Excellent writing and editorial skills and the ability to translate complex topics into clear and target-group-oriented communication
- Confidence in working with senior stakeholders and in handling sensitive or time-critical communication topics
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several topics and deadlines in parallel
- Pragmatic, hands-on and collaborative working style with a high level of reliability and attention to quality
- Interest in digital business models and the technology sector
- Fluent German and English mandatory, both written and spoken
