Job-Inhalt
Your tasks
- Design and develop advanced control algorithms for multi-bunch operation in travelling-wave RF structures, with a focus on 4-bunch schemes for FCC-ee and experimental validation using 2-bunch configurations at SwissFEL
- Perform modeling and simulation of RF systems and beam acceleration to support control strategy development and operational studies
- Create automation tools to efficiently configure, optimize, and stabilize multi-bunch beam operation
- Contribute to the systems engineering of LLRF systems, translating user requirements into integrated hardware, firmware, and software architecture
- Support and gain hands-on experience in the operation and optimization of the SwissFEL LLRF system
Your profile
- MSc or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong background in feedback control theory and automation of complex systems
- Foundational knowledge of beam dynamics in linear accelerators
- Experience with LLRF systems or EPICS-based control systems is an asset
- Proficiency in Linux environments and programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB); experience with FPGA firmware is a plus
- Familiarity with system and/or software engineering practices is advantageous
- Demonstrated problem-solving mindset, hands-on approach, and excellent command of English
