Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Manage a team of Supplier Quality Engineers that are responsible for ensuring delivery of quality components, materials, and services in compliance to purchasing controls. 

  • Manage performance, develop talent, engagement and inclusion, communicate business and operational developments, plan, prioritize and/or direct the responsibilities of direct reports. 

  • Accountable for mentoring, developing and coaching staff on meeting / exceeding performance expectations and defined objectives. 

  • Provide leadership to staff ensuring the prioritization of strategic and department level initiatives to include defining performance goals and targets, conducting performance reviews, and staff 1:1s to guide performance management and employee development efforts and manage toward departmental goals. 

  • Develop/maintain monitoring systems to track supplier & team performance (training, nonconformances, open actions, Supplier CAPA, supplier change management, Global Supplier Quality improvement programs, goals, etc.). 

  • Lead cross-functional teams of engineers and manufacturing functions to investigate and resolve supplier-related quality or compliance issues discovered during incoming inspection and/or production. 

  • Lead team in corrective/preventive actions to resolve supplier-related issues (e.g., nonconformances, Supplier CAPA activities, audit findings, complaint investigations, etc.). 

  • Ensure compliance to purchasing controls, including supporting internal and external audits and inspections. 

Required Knowledge and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree required. 

    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience 

    • Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills for the team of direct reports 

    • Strong communication, organizational and project planning skills 

    Nice to Have:

    • MBA, Masters in Engineering, science or technical field 

    • ASQ CQE, CQA and/or CSQP certification 

    • First Time Quality (FTQ) Coach / Six Sigma / Lean Green Belt or Black Belt certified

    Pay range / Rango salarial / Intervalo salarial /Fascia retributiva / Tranche de salaire / Gehaltsband / Salaribereik:  Switzerland: 132,000.00 CHF - 198,000.00 CHF | This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
