Senior Project Manager, PaaS & Cloud Automation

Job Description

• Own the Architecture & Technology  projects end to end. Take projects from initiation through execution to closure — cloud platforms, platform automation, middleware and the IaaS/PaaS/SaaS services built on top — and be accountable for the result, not just the plan.
• Lead technical delivery teams and go deep with them. Instruct and steer engineering teams from analysis and architecture through development to live service, deep-diving into the technology yourself and driving consensus where opinions differ.
• Run sound project governance. Set up and manage financials, resources, scope, quality and timeline; identify risks and issues early, remove blockers for the team, and secure buy-in from senior stakeholders, peers and engineers.
• Manage client and sales expectations. Be the credible voice towards clients and internal sales throughout the implementation — clear status, honest timelines, and a polished business and technical pitch up to C-suite and Board level.
• Bridge business vision and technical reality. Translate our service and product ambitions into concrete technical implementation — and translate technical constraints back into commercial language senior stakeholders can decide on.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in project management for technical, cross-functional projects — plus a university degree in technology, business or a comparable field.
• A proven track record delivering complex programmes end to end — spanning multiple engineering teams through the full software lifecycle (build, test, release on time), in an international, diverse and agile-driven environment.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, Platform Engineering, automation, and IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and BPaaS concepts, with a proven track record of building and delivering scalable infrastructure platforms and services for real customers, not just consuming them.
• Technical credibility with engineers. You can discuss implementation detail with developers, drive consensus among stakeholders who disagree, and pick up new technologies in the cloud/IT space quickly.
• Effective communication in English, up to C-suite and Board level — a polished business and technical pitch, combined with a can-do attitude and the willingness to drive difficult conversations to a practical solution. Italian is considered a strong asset.
