Mission

  • Participate in workshops to capture functional/technical requirements and translate them into clear design documents for ODS changes and interfaces.
  • Design, implement, and enhance Oracle PL/SQL objects (packages, procedures, views) within the ODS and across upstream (Core Banking) and downstream client application interfaces, emphasizing maintainability (clean modular design, clear naming, code reviews), robust observability (structured logging with audit trail in mind), and operability (standardized error handling and troubleshooting runbooks) to support reliable production operations.
  • Create and modify UNIX KornShell (ksh) scripts to orchestrate multi-timezone batch jobs and data workflows.
  • Coordinate delivery with onshore and offshore team members; align with architectural guidelines and interface contracts.
  • Maintain and improve existing database artifacts, ensuring performance, stability, and reliability in production.
  • Communicate with adjacent systems across the bank’s information system to ensure end-to-end data consistency and integrity.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and manage go-lives and production support.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate documentation, specification drafting, and knowledge sharing where appropriate.
  • Document APIs/interfaces, runbooks, functional and technical specifications to build organizational knowledge.

Key Qualifications

  • 7–15 years of experience as an Oracle-focused analyst/developer supporting production systems in complex environments.
  • Expert PL/SQL skills, including performance tuning and robust error handling.
  • Proficiency with UNIX scripting (KornShell ksh or similar) for operational automation and batch orchestration.
  • Experience eliciting requirements and producing functional and technical specifications aligned with architecture standards.
  • Hands-on experience operating and supporting production data platforms (deployments, incident response, stability and performance improvements).
  • Proven collaboration with business analysts, architects, and development teams across regions and time zones.
  • Familiarity with multi-region, multi-timezone batch processing strategies in banking or similar regulated domains.
  • Ability to leverage AI as a productivity tool for documentation and development specifications.
  • Strong understanding of secure software and data handling practices in financial services.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of ODS design patterns and file and event-driven ingestion from core banking systems.

  • Experience with CI/CD for database changes and schema versioning
  • Familiarity with interface governance, API or messaging integration patterns.

  • Ownership mentality with a bias for clear, pragmatic solutions under production constraints.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to debug complex batch/data issues.
