Your Role
As Stewardship Specialist at Bank J. Safra Sarasin you are joining our leading Sustainability team to develop and deliver Stewardship activities (engagement and proxy voting). Reporting into the Head of Stewardship, you will be working with equity and fixed income portfolio managers and fundamental analysts in a stimulating, dynamic and collaborative environment. You will provide key ESG analysis and support to the asset management division of the Bank.Your Responsibilities
- Conduct direct and collaborative engagements with corporate issuers on strategic ESG issues
- Take ownership of developing and driving thematic engagement topics (e.g. strategic minerals, human rights)
- Participate in proxy voting activities by identifying and analysing critical general meetings in line with our voting policy
- Support the operational aspects of proxy voting activities
- Maintain robust engagement records and contribute actively to RfPs, proxy voting reports for clients and annual reviews
- Contribute to high-quality ESG and Stewardship-related research and conduct sectoral ESG analysis
Your Profile
- University degree in business, economics, finance, or another field relevant for sustainable finance, with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in asset management and/or sustainable finance and first relevant work experience in financial services
- Interest in non-financial risk and sustainability topics; basic knowledge in the area of stewardship is an advantage
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills; knowledge in data management (SQL) and/or Python are additional assets
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to weigh problems and set priorities
- A solution- and outcome oriented work approach with hands-on mentality, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills combined with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with various stakeholder
- Fluency in German and English is a must; fluency in French is a plus
