To support this growth, we are preparing a major warehouse relocation project set for early next year. You are joining a fast-paced environment where supply chain expertise, vendor relations, digital tools, and large-scale transformation projects meet every day!
Context and your environmentAt Decathlon, career paths are dynamic! Thomas, who currently holds this role, is stepping into a temporary strategic mission in our Procurement team. That’s why, we are looking for an agile, proactive candidate to step in and take full ownership of his scope for a 1-year contract during this pivotal transformation period.
Location: Based at our office in Bussigny (VD), with occasional trips to Geneva (to visit the Digital team) and to the warehouse (currently based at Onnens, tomorrow at Niederwangen)
Key connections: You will work directly with Emilie (Transport Leader) and collaborate daily with external carriers (managing key partners), our warehouse teams and international Decathlon transport networks.
Your mission : 2 core pillars
This role bridges hands-on vendor coordination and technical system optimization. Your daily mission is built around two key pillars:
Pillar 1: Transport and carrier coordination
Carrier performance and vendor management: Drive regular performance reviews with transport partners. Monitor lead times, SLA compliance, and delivery promise execution.
Constructive negotiation: Build strong, trust-based relationships with carriers while maintaining a firm posture during performance reviews and contract negotiations.
Operations and warehouse alignment: Coordinate activity forecasts between carriers and warehouse teams to prevent bottlenecks and resolve disruptions. Actively support the transport aspect of our warehouse relocation taking place in early 2027. Coordinate carrier flows, ensure seamless operational handover, and safeguard delivery continuity during the move.
Budget and financial auditing: Manage transport provisions and budgets. Analyze complex invoices, dissect extra costs, identify root causes, and execute cost-correction plans.
Customer satisfaction (NPS): Monitor delivery-related NPS, track service gaps, and drive quality improvement plans with carriers to elevate customer satisfaction.
Internal tool settings: Configure and fine-tune delivery parameters, return routes, and shipping logic directly within Decathlon’s internal transport back-office system.
Cross-border logistics project: Drive the implementation and technical setup for Cross-border delivery (tenders, system settings, operational tracking) to enable direct shipments to Swiss customers from European fulfillment hubs.
International networking: Proactively reach out to Decathlon transport teams in neighboring countries to benchmark solutions, exchange ideas, and roll out best practices.
Data-driven improvement: Analyze delivery flows and system reliability to continuously refine order dispatch rules and cost-performance ratios.
