Job-Inhalt
Your Tasks
- Lead and develop a team of approx. 10 OT developers on-site and manage OT initiatives globally (PLC, embedded C/C++, IPC) for platform and machine‑control projects.
- Take co-ownership of Rieter’s overall strategy for controls and OT platform roadmaps.
- Drive new control concepts together with R&D, including platform development and control migration roadmap.
- Ensure the further development and reliable operation of existing controls, including modernization and migration paths.
- Work with architecture team to keep our solutions aligned with modern architecture approaches and frameworks.
- Contribute to Rieter’s AI strategy on the shopfloor: define how control systems expose data and services for AI use cases.
- Act as part of the Digital Leadership Team, interfacing with Product Management, IT, Data and Automation on roadmaps and platform decisions.
- Communicate clearly with management and technical stakeholders, represent your domain in steering committees and customer projects.
- Mobility: approx. 5–10% (visits to R&D teams and production sites)
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation or a related field.
- 7+ years experience in OT/ICS development or industrial automation, including leading projects and teams.
- Proven track record in PLC/IPC‑based control projects (e.g. IEC 61131‑3, Codesys, B&R, Siemens, Beckhoff) and embedded C/C++.
- Experience in designing or evolving control architectures – ideally with familiarity to frameworks such as TOGAF, ISA‑95/99 or comparable reference models.
- Solid understanding of OT security and safe OT/IT integration.
- First exposure to AI‑related topics in industrial environments (e.g. data pipelines for analytics, condition monitoring, optimization), or strong motivation to build these skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills: able to coach developers, shape direction, and collaborate across R&D, IT, Data and regional organisations.
- Comfortable working in an international environment (English required, German a plus)
