Job-Inhalt
The basic research laboratories of Department of Reproductive Endocrinology of the University Hospital Zürich are located in Schlieren and consists of three research groups that study 1) basic mechanisms of early embryogenesis; 2) molecular and immunological mechanisms underlying endometriosis; and 3) the influence of extracellular vesicles contribute to oocyte and female reproductive health. We are currently looking for a research technician/biosafety officer to support our research activities and to coordinate biosafety related matters. The University Hospital of Zurich is one of the largest hospitals in Switzerland. Our more than 8, 600 employees and around 700 trainees work every day for the well-being of our patients.
- keeping the biosafety concept up to date; training of new and current lab members on biosafety topics, yearly biosafety training
- Support the three research group leaders in common lab duties including wet lab and equipment maintenance, inventory management, special trash disposal, sterilization, etc.
- Act as main contact of the department for the facility manager
- Assist in ordering lab supplies, liaising with vendors and technical spcialists
- Support the research groups in specific projects (hands-on support with biochemical, immunological, cell biology techniques)
- Organizing/updating laboratory protocols and archives
- Upon necessity: sample collection and transfer from the USZ Campus to Schlieren.
- Completed training as a Biomedical Analyst (BMA) or Biology Laboratory Technician (EFZ) with at least 4 years of professional experience, or a Master's degree in Biology, Biomedicine, or a related field with at least 1 year of professional experience in a similar role (e.g., Biosafety Officer or Laboratory Technician).
- Eligibility to work in Switzerland (strict requirement)
- Strong interest in biosafety topics
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
- Self-motivated
- Fluent in German and English (strict requirement)
- Proficiency with MS Office software
