Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Our Synthesis Workstations are recognized for their exceptional precision and technical excellence. They support customers worldwide in automating chemical synthesis processes, making them indispensable for research, development, and reaction scale-up activities. For our global headquarters in Nänikon, (close to Zurich), we are currently looking to strengthen our development team with an: Embedded Software Engineer 80-100% (all genders).As part of our Embedded Software team, you will play a key role in the further development of our RXE and CSS product lines. Your focus will be on modernizing our product platforms and developing future-oriented solutions for innovative inspection and quality assurance systems.In this role, your responsibilities include:- Develop and commission embedded software for new products and platforms.
- Evaluate suitable microprocessors and embedded technologies for future developments.
- Maintain, extend, and update existing products throughout their entire lifecycle.
- Contribute to the migration of existing products to modern software platforms.
- Maintain and further develop Debian Linux kernels and drivers when required.
- Analyze and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Collaborate closely with software, electronics, and mechanical engineering teams.
- Support service, production, and assembly teams with technical inquiries.
- Actively contribute ideas to the continuous improvement of development processes.
What You Need to Succeed
Following requirements are necessary for this role:- Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a comparable field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in embedded software development within an industrial R&D environment.
- Strong knowledge of modern C++ and C.
- Experience with Git and modern software development processes.
- Solid understanding of electronics, including reading schematics and measuring signals.
- Ideally, experience with Python and/or C#, as well as common development tools such as GCC, CMake, Visual Studio Code, and Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of unit and system testing, as well as the Zephyr embedded operating system.
- Experience with Embedded Linux systems and Linux driver development/maintenance is an advantage.
- Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to work.
- Ability to thrive in an agile and interdisciplinary environment.
- Fluent in English, German language skills are a plus.
