Fulltime, 4-6 Months At Sonova, our Research & Development (R&D) department delivers innovative hearing solutions and services for people with hearing loss and hearing care professionals worldwide. Ensuring high audio quality in every life situation and providing the best hearing performance experience to our customers is the primary goal of this team.To further improve the development and testing of audio quality and hearing performance in realistic scenarios, particularly during phone calls, we are looking for a motivated intern to join our team in Stäfa for up to six months. Your tasks
- Become familiar with existing hardware and software setups used for assessing audio quality during phone calls
- Configure and operate Sonova hearing instruments, smartphones, and laboratory equipment for audio quality during hands-free phone calls
- Create, modify, and maintain measurement objects and test configurations for audio quality assessments
- Conduct measurements and tests to evaluate phone call audio processing performance with selected smartphone and hearing device models
- Analyze measurement results using existing software tools and support customization through basic Python scripting
- Document test procedures, results, and recommendations clearly for team members and stakeholders
- BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Acoustic Engineering, Signal Processing, or a related field
- Interest in audio technologies, signal processing, telecommunications, acoustics, or hearing systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Basic Python programming skills are an advantage
- Experience working in an acoustic laboratory or with audio hardware is a plus
- Fluent English
- Hands-on experience with acoustic measurements, radio testing equipment, smartphones, and hearing instruments
- Exposure to advanced signal processing technologies and product verification activities prior to product launch #LI-NB1
