Head of Information Security

Your contribution

As Head of Information Security, you will lead and develop Tecan’s IT (Cyber) Security domain, ensuring robust protection against internal and external threats. You’ll drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of IT security strategies, guidelines, and solutions. Collaborating across the business, you’ll define and govern IT security measures, support all IT teams, and partner with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a continuous IT (Cyber) Security strategy
• Lead and guide the IT security team, prioritizing projects and people management
• Ensure smooth operations and zero downtime for IT security solutions
• Define and maintain the project portfolio for all IT security-related initiatives
• Oversee technical requirements, architecture, and standards for security applications and infrastructure
• Monitor compliance, conduct security inspections, and manage contracts with external partners
• Prepare and manage budgets, with full HR responsibility for your team
• Use agile and classic project management methodologies
• Advise IT management and provide transparency on status and decisions

Your background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or Business Administration
• IT Security background and relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CSSLP, MAS/CAS Information Security)
• Experience in systems design, IT planning, and strategic development of IT infrastructure and cloud solutions
• Strong understanding of cloud solutions, especially Microsoft Azure & DevOps
• Knowledge of ISMS, IAM, network, server, client, and web security
• Leadership skills, strategic and pragmatic thinking, and the ability to motivate and assert yourself
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Fluent in English and German is a nice to have
