Join Our Web-Fed Solutions Team
Within the Services & Performance Business Unit, we offer you the opportunity to join our Web-Fed Solutions External Field Service Pool as a Field Service & Commissioning Engineer – Automation & Motion Control.
This is a full-time permanent position (100%) based at our Mex (VD) site, which serves as our corporate headquarters and production center.
This role is intended for a professional who is passionate about complex industrial environments and capable of working autonomously on highly sophisticated automated production lines. You will be required to travel internationally for 50% to 60% of your working time, often on assignments lasting several consecutive weeks.
YOUR MISSION
- Commission automated production lines in Switzerland and internationally.
- Perform retrofit, modernization, and upgrade projects on existing installations.
- Independently plan and organize on-site commissioning activities.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to automation, motion control, electrical systems, and industrial IT.
- Program, modify, and optimize automation systems using Siemens TIA Portal and Siemens S7.
- Commission and configure drive systems and synchronized motion axes.
- Perform troubleshooting interventions both on customer sites and remotely.
- Coordinate technical activities with customer teams.
- Validate equipment performance and contribute to final acceptance testing.
- Train customer maintenance and production teams.
- Provide structured reporting to Project Managers and Technical Support teams.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our products through field feedback and lessons learned.
YOUR PROFILE
- HES Engineering degree, ES Technician diploma, or equivalent qualification in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
- Strong expertise in Siemens TIA Portal and Siemens S7 environments.
- Good knowledge of drive systems, variable frequency drives, and synchronized motion control.
- Proven experience in reading electrical schematics, industrial troubleshooting, and commissioning electrical control cabinets.
- Proficiency with Windows environments and virtualization solutions.
- Good command of English (minimum B2 level) for technical exchanges and customer training.
- Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills.
- Autonomous, organized, and results-oriented.
- Ability to work on customer sites for several consecutive weeks in an international environment.
- Ability to effectively engage internal support teams whenever required.
- Valid Category B driving license.

- Motion Control Solutions: Bosch Rexroth, Siemens
- Drives and Inverters: Siemens Sinamics, Baumüller, Nidec, Schneider Electric, and other suppliers

- Automated production lines typically integrating 30 to 100 synchronized axes
