The opportunity 

At Hitachi Energy, we are advancing a sustainable energy future for all. Join our GIS Development team within the High Voltage Products Business Unit in Zurich-Oerlikon. 

You will be part of an international R&D team developing next-generation gas-insulated switchgear technologies for high-voltage applications. The team combines experienced specialists and developing engineers. We are now looking for a senior engineer who can strengthen our technical expertise and take ownership of complex engineering challenges.

How you'll make an impact 
 

  • Deliver R&D activities for high-voltage product development
  • Support the development of innovative eco-gas solutions
  • Lead technical investigations and root cause analyses
  • Drive product improvement and reliability initiatives
  • Plan, support, and evaluate testing and validation activities
  • Collaborate with global laboratories and external suppliers
  • Provide technical support for existing products and applications
  • Share knowledge and contribute to technical excellence across teams
     

Your background 
 

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field

  • Minimum five years of industry experience in engineering or R&D

  • Strong technical expertise in electrical engineerin

  • Experience working in an industrial product development environment

  • Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders

  • Strong communication skills and fluent English
