Investment Specialist - Equities (Aerospace & Defence)

Mission

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Equity Analyst to join the Investment Specialist team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis of publicly traded companies in specific sectors (Industrials, Aerospace & Defence), evaluating investment opportunities, building financial models, and providing actionable insights to support portfolio management and investment decisions to Wealth Management teams (DPM, Private Banking). The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, financial acumen, and the ability to communicate complex investment ideas clearly and persuasively. This opportunity also involves the portfolio management of two dedicated thematic equity certificates. 

Main responsibilities 

• 1. Company and Industry Research
  •    Conduct thorough fundamental research on assigned companies and sectors across US and Europe.
  •    Analyze business models, industry dynamics, competitive positioning, and management quality.
  •    Maintain ongoing coverage of ~40-50 companies (Buy, Hold, Sell ratings), updating investment theses and valuations as new data becomes available.
  •    Build and maintain financial models forecasting key financial metrics, evaluate capital structure and costs as well as balance sheet health.
   
• 2. Investment Recommendation and Reporting
  •    Prepare investment reports (equity factsheets, updated quarterly), internal and external presentations summarizing sector views, valuation conclusions, and single line recommendations.
  •    Support senior portfolio managers (DPM) in developing investment strategies and identifying high-conviction opportunities.
  •    Communicate investment views clearly and concisely to internal stakeholders (private bankers, investment advisors) or clients through written reports, slide decks, or verbal presentations.
   
• 3. Market and Portfolio Monitoring & Management
  •    Assist in portfolio monitoring, identifying risks or catalysts that could affect portfolio performance (DPM Equity portfolios).
  •    Manage dedicated thematic equity certificates, produce performance reports and maintain dedicated presentations.
   
• 4. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Work
  •    Contribute to team administrative tasks, cross-sector publications and investment meetings.
  •    Work closely with DPM portfolio managers to provide timely research input, participate in Equity Committee/Global Investment Committee as required.
  •    Respond to internal requests from private bankers/investment advisors in a timely manner
   
• Your Profile
  • Excellent academic record with a relevant Master's degree from a top-tier university and CFA 
  • 5–10 years of experience covering the Industrials and Aerospace & Defence sectors, with a strong understanding of key value drivers and industry dynamics.
  • Strong ability to conduct company and industry research.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present investment ideas clearly and confidently to internal stakeholders and Clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English; French is an asset.
