Job Description
Your key tasks
Team Leadership and People Management
- Lead and manage a team of infrastructure specialists across Unix, Windows, Database, Network, Middleware, and Kubernetes domains, with full accountability for performance and delivery outcomes
- Enforce rigorous performance management standards, mandate professional development aligned with organisational requirements, and ensure continuous skills evolution
- Establish and maintain a disciplined, accountable, and delivery-focused team culture with clear performance expectations
- Oversee capacity planning, workload allocation, and resource management to ensure optimal utilisation and delivery commitments are met
Technical Governance and Delivery Oversight
- Ensure consistent and compliant execution of all infrastructure activities, including project delivery, change implementation, and operational support, with zero tolerance for deviations from established standards
- Maintain rigorous oversight of technical quality, enforce adherence to standards and architectural guidelines, and validate all technical solutions against governance requirements
- Serve as the definitive escalation point for complex technical issues and cross-domain dependencies, with authority to make binding technical decisions
- Oversee design reviews and mandate proper validation of all technical solutions prior to implementation
Project and Change Coordination
- Direct local team contributions across multiple infrastructure projects and change initiatives, ensuring full alignment with enterprise delivery schedules
- Enforce readiness protocols for all implementation activities, including mandatory testing, cutover planning, and rollback procedures
- Coordinate directly with project managers, architects, and service owners to ensure seamless integration and accountability across all delivery touchpoints
- Enforce strict compliance with change management processes and audit requirements; maintain comprehensive documentation and audit trails
Stakeholder and Vendor Interaction
- Serve as the primary point of contact and authoritative voice for local technical teams in all communications with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Provide transparent reporting on delivery status, risks, resource constraints, and escalate critical issues immediately to senior leadership
- Direct coordination of activities with nearshore/offshore teams and third-party vendors, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and service level agreements
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Mandate adoption of automation, standardisation, and Infrastructure as Code practices across all team operations
- Identify and implement improvements to delivery efficiency and operational processes, with measurable outcomes and accountability
- Oversee knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives within the team, ensuring compliance with organisational standards and best practices
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience delivering IT infrastructure projects or leading complex technical change initiatives within enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in at least one core infrastructure domain (Unix, Windows, Database, Network, Middleware, or Kubernetes), combined with a solid understanding of other infrastructure technologies
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is mandatory, along with experience in Azure and/or AWS environments
- Proven track record of coordinating technical specialists and successfully delivering complex, multi-domain infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of enterprise change management, testing, deployment planning, project governance, and risk management processes, ideally within regulated industries
- 3+ years of experience leading technical project teams, managing stakeholders, and driving project delivery across multiple workstreams
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, resource coordination, budget oversight, and management of cross-functional dependencies
- Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments, platform migrations, agile delivery methodologies, and DevOps practices is highly desirable
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Relevant OCI, Azure, or AWS certifications are required
- Fluent English and Italian are mandatory; German and/or French would be an advantage
