The Site Hygiene Manager serves as the central authority for all hygiene-related activities at the Lonza Stein site. This role ensures strategic alignment, operational execution, and regulatory compliance across Operations, MSAT, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and external service providers.The position drives site-wide hygiene governance, leads cross-functional initiatives, and ensures that hygiene standards meet GMP expectations and support operational excellence.

Tasks:
- Act as the primary site contact for all hygiene topics, ensuring alignment and collaboration across Operations, MSAT, QA, QC, and other stakeholders.
- Lead and manage complex hygiene-related projects, including scope definition, milestone planning, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and progress reporting to senior leadership.
- Define, harmonize, and implement standardized hygiene processes across the Stein site to improve efficiency, reduce variability, and ensure sustainable GMP compliance.
- Identify and execute process improvements and cost-optimization initiatives that support Lonza’s operational excellence and financial objectives.
- Represent Lonza’s hygiene standards during regulatory inspections, customer audits, and internal assessments.
- Lead investigations of hygiene-related deviations, ensuring timely root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and complete documentation.
- Influence and engage cross-functional teams to build consensus and drive adoption of strategic hygiene initiatives.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in contamination control and environmental monitoring, translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Ensure robust documentation, reporting, and data analysis to support decision-making and regulatory readiness.
- Serve as the main interface between Lonza and the external cleaning service provider (CWS), including scheduling, supervision, compliance oversight, communication management, and service quality monitoring.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Hygiene Technology, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in a management role within the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Proven experience managing hygiene-related deviations, clean utilities, or contamination control topics.
- Background in microbiological QC or environmental monitoring is an advantage.
- Strong project management capabilities with experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and align diverse groups.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally across all organizational levels.
- Highly solution-oriented, structured, precise, and detail-focused.
- Strong self-reliance, proactivity, assertiveness, and resilience under pressure.
