Position Overview:
The Project Construction Manager is responsible for the practical management and planning of every stage of the construction project. Working closely with the project team and stakeholders, he ensures building activities are executed and completed safely, within budget and on time.
Responsibilities:
•Project Site Management and Construction Supervision: Overseeing day-to-day operations on the construction site, supervising construction workers and subcontractors, and ensuring all work aligns with design specifications and quality standards.
•Quality Assurance: Conducting regular inspections to monitor the quality of work and materials, identifying deficiencies, and ensuring that the finished product meets the client's expectations and industry standards.
•Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Management: Implementing, maintaining, and enforcing stringent HSSE protocols and legal regulations to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel on site.
•Risk Management and Problem Solving: Identifying potential risks or delays (e.g., weather, emergencies, unexpected issues), and developing and implementing effective mitigation strategies and solutions to keep the project on track.
•Pre-commissioning / Commissioning: Experience in Pre-commissioning / Commissioning of new units within a heavy brownfield environment would be a plus.
•Resource and Procurement Management: Determining and obtaining necessary resources, including materials, equipment, and labour, and coordinating their delivery and allocation to optimize efficiency.
•Construction Planning and Scheduling: Developing comprehensive construction plan, defining scope and objectives, and managing detailed work timetables and schedules to ensure all phases are completed on time.
•Budgeting and Cost Control: Assist in the preparation of the cost estimates and construction budgets, tracking expenditures, and managing construction costs and changes to prevent overruns.
•Communication: Acting as the primary construction liaison between the refinery team, engineers, subcontractors, and government inspectors.
Qualification:
•Min Qualification: Construction management references and safety certificates recognized in Switzerland
•Min Experience: 15 years
•Must be proficient in French and English (both written and verbal)
•Must have experience managing construction projects >50MM CHF
•Oil & Gas and renewable experience in brownfield environment mandatory
•Strong knowledge of Microsoft products; MS Project
