About the Role
As a Senior Underwriter Property, you'll be an important part of our strategy in the Swiss market, evaluating complex risks, developing effective solutions, and building strong relationships with brokers and clients. Key Responsibilities
Evaluate and underwrite complex property risks for large and medium-sized corporate clients in the Swiss market
Develop and execute strategic initiatives to expand our property portfolio and market presence
Build and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients to drive new business opportunities
Analyze risk exposures and create tailored insurance solutions that meet client needs while ensuring profitability
Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients to secure optimal outcomes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design comprehensive insurance programs
Identify cross-selling opportunities across different lines of business
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions
Mentor junior team members and contribute to the team's overall success
Drive innovation in product development and underwriting approaches
About the Team
You'll be joining the Property Switzerland team of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions responsible for the direct commercial property business originating in Switzerland. The team focuses on delivering tailored insurance solutions to corporate clients while driving portfolio growth and maintaining strong market relationships.
About You
You're a high-performing underwriter with strong technical skills and a proven track record of building profitable portfolios. Your entrepreneurial mindset and commercial acumen allow you to spot opportunities and convert them into business success. You're not afraid to challenge the status quo and bring fresh perspectives to drive innovation and growth.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commercial property underwriting, with a focus on medium to large corporate clients
Native/fluent in both German and English (written and verbal)
Proven track record of successful business development and portfolio growth
Strong technical underwriting skills with the ability to analyze complex risks
Established network with brokers and clients in the Swiss insurance market
Swiss market knowledge and understanding of local business practices
Experience with international property insurance programs and captive placements
These are additional nice to haves:
Additional language skills (French)
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance or related field
Advanced degree or professional insurance qualifications
For Switzerland, the base salary range for this position is between 136,000 and 204,000 CHF (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience
In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus.
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week
