Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer with a focus on technical project management to join our ICT Engineering & Operations team. In this role, you will actively shape the further development of our ICT landscape and ensure sustainable, future-ready solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate ICT infrastructure projects from planning through to successful implementation
- Take full responsibility for projects in terms of quality, timelines, and budget
- Plan, implement, and further develop technical solutions within our IT landscape (on-premises & cloud)
- Integrate and connect external sites into a unified, secure, and scalable ICT infrastructure
- Develop and implement a sustainable data strategy with a focus on efficient use, management, and optimization of data – particularly in hybrid environments (on-prem & cloud)
- Design, standardize, and automate operational processes within the ICT infrastructure to ensure efficient and sustainable long-term solutions
- Identify optimization potential and actively implement improvements and automation
- Ensure a stable, high-performance, and scalable server and system infrastructure
- Actively contribute to troubleshooting as well as 2nd/3rd level support for complex issues
- Create and maintain technical and project documentation
- Prepare and facilitate project meetings and ensure transparent decision-making foundations
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders as well as external partners and suppliers
Hardskills
- University degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification
- Solid knowledge in administration and configuration of server environments
- At least 5 years of experience in the following areas:
- Technical leadership and implementation of IT infrastructure projects
- Automation solutions and backup technologies (e.g., Veeam)
- Windows operating systems (Windows Server), including administration and security; Linux is a plus
- Active Directory, Group Policies (GPOs), Entra ID, and Microsoft Azure
- Basic understanding of network architectures, VPN, and security concepts
- Experience with hybrid infrastructure and cloud architectures
- Proficiency in both German and English is required
