We are seeking a highly motivated, flexible, and team-oriented postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in laboratory-based analysis of terrestrial and/or extraterrestrial samples.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a solid academic background and publication record, as well as experience in high-precision isotope analyses of geological samples. The position will involve teamwork, including coordination with PhD students and other postdoctoral researchers. It is important to demonstrate the spirit of collaboration without compromising research independence. Your tasks will centre around:

  • Conduct and publish high-quality research in Earth and Planetary Sciences, aligned with the scientific profile of the Planetary Geochemistry group
  • Develop and pursue innovative research directions with potential for competitive third-party funding
  • Contribute to teaching and supervision at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral levels
  • Support the isotope geochemistry and cosmochemistry team in research, teaching, laboratory activities, and day-to-day scientific operations wherever possible
Profile
  • PhD in Geochemistry, Cosmochemistry, Earth or Planetary Sciences, or a closely related discipline
  • Research experience in analytical geo- or cosmochemistry
  • Experience with high precision isotope analyses of geological samples and clean laboratory environments
  • Highly self-motivated, independent, and able to work closely in a team
  • Experience in Bachelor, Master or doctoral student supervision are advantageous
We offer
  • A 2-year fixed-term position, which may be renewed up to 6 years
  • A multifaceted and intellectually stimulating position at a world-class university, with highly competitive salary and excellent working conditions
  • An interactive research group recognized as one of the world’s leading teams in the field, with strong international connections, offering a unique opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research
  • State-of-the-art and well-equipped clean-room facilities. Analytical instruments available within the group include Triton TIMS, multiple MC-ICP-MS instruments, including a newly installed NEOMA, sector field and QQQ ICP-MS
